Privacy policy

Who we are

employmentscreening.services is an independent reference site for employers. It covers the law on employment background screening, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and state and city rules.

Binary Glyph Media, LLC, an Ohio limited liability company, operates the site. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Binary Glyph Media, LLC.

We are not a consumer reporting agency, and we do not perform background checks. We are not a law firm, and we do not give legal advice. This is not a government site.

This policy tells you what information we collect when you visit the site, how we use it, and what choices you have.

What we collect

Server logs

Our web server keeps standard access logs. Each time you request a page, the log records:

  • your IP address
  • your browser’s user agent (a short line of text that names your browser and operating system)
  • the page you requested
  • the date and time of the request
  • the referrer (the page that linked you here, if your browser sends it)

Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure how visitors use the site, such as which pages they view. Google Analytics uses first-party cookies, which are cookies set under this site’s own address. In our Google Analytics settings, Google signals is off and ads personalization is off. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

To learn how Google collects and processes this information, read How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Affiliate link clicks

Any affiliate link on the site goes through an address that begins with /go/. In this policy, a “partner” is a company we link to through an affiliate link. When you click a /go/ link, our redirect adds one to the click count for that link and notes the time of the latest click. The redirect records nothing about who clicked. Like any other page request, your request to a /go/ address also appears in the server logs described above.

Email you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write.

What we do not collect

The site has no accounts, comments, forms, email list, or lead forms. The site does not ask for your name, your email address, or any other information you type in. We hold no background check records about anyone.

How we use information

  • We use server logs to keep the site secure, to fix problems, and to count traffic. Our hosting control panel builds these traffic counts from the logs, on the same server.
  • We use Google Analytics only to measure how the site is used.
  • We use click counts to see how often visitors use each affiliate link.
  • We use your email address and message to answer you.

Who we share it with

  • Our hosting provider operates the server that runs the site in the United States. That server holds the server logs. Our hosting provider processes this information for us.
  • Google provides our analytics service. Google receives the information that Google Analytics collects during your visit.

Other parties may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use this site. Google may do this through Google Analytics. After you follow an affiliate link, the partner may use cookies on its own site.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies and how to opt out

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies in your browser. You can opt out of Google Analytics in either of two ways:

Do Not Track signals

The site does not respond to Do Not Track signals. To opt out of Google Analytics, use one of the two methods above.

Partner sites

When you buy from, sign up with or request a quote from a partner through an affiliate link, we may earn a commission or referral fee. This costs you nothing extra.

When you reach a partner’s site, the partner’s own privacy policy and cookies apply, not ours. The partner may use cookies to credit the referral to us. Read the partner’s privacy policy to learn what it collects.

Children

The site is written for employers. It is not directed to children under 13.

Your choices and rights

You can email us at contact@employmentscreening.services to ask what information we hold about you. You can also ask us to delete it.

Some U.S. state laws give residents additional privacy rights. If one of those laws applies to your request, we will honor the request after we verify it.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics. The section “Cookies and how to opt out” explains how.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No website or server is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of your information.

Changes to this policy

We may change this policy. When we do, we will update the date at the end of this page. We will update this policy before we add any feature that collects information you type in.
