Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy from, sign up with or request a quote from that company, we may earn a commission or referral fee. You do not pay more because you used our link.
We are a reference site for employers about background screening law. We are not a consumer reporting agency, and we do not perform background checks.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a link that can earn us a commission or referral fee. It takes you to another company’s website and lets that company credit us for sending you.
How to tell which links are affiliate links
- Every affiliate link on this site has an address that includes employmentscreening.services/go/. Your browser shows a link’s address when you point to it or press and hold it.
- Each page that contains an affiliate link also shows a short disclosure near the link.
Commissions and referral fees do not change our legal information
A commission or referral fee never changes what we say the FCRA or a state or city rule requires.
No company pays us to place a link on this site, and we do not pay other sites for links to our site.
We do not promote or place links to people-search sites that do not offer employment screening under the FCRA.
What happens when you click
Our redirect counts the clicks on each affiliate link and notes the time of the latest click. It records nothing about who clicked.
Like every request to this site, the click also appears in our standard server logs. These logs record your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for, the time, and the page you came from. Our privacy policy explains these logs.
When you reach the other company’s website, its own privacy policy applies. That company may also use cookies, for example to credit the referral to us.
